Monofilament Recycling
Sponsored by The Wildlife Trust Fund
♻️ REEL IN AND RECYCLE ♻️
We have launched a fishing line recycling program!
Did you know that improperly discarded fishing line (monofilament) is not only an eyesore, but it poses a threat to wildlife, and can remain in the environment for 600 years?!
We have placed fishing line collection bins at :
HRAA boat launch
French Village Bridge
Smithtown Bridge
Silver Hill Bridge
Tabor Bridge
Hillsdale Bridge
Cassidy Lake
Darlings Lake
We'll collect the used fishing line, and then send it away to be recycled!
Got some broken line in your fishing vest or tackle boxes? ------ Drop it off!
Find some fishing line hanging in the bushes? ----- We'll take it!
Let's see how much we can collect and recycle this year! ♻️
We’ve collected a significant amount of fishing line throughout 2019-2024, and send it to Berkley Fishing for recycling!
Kids from Nature Camp helped make some fun signs for the monofilament bins!
