Counsellors-In-Training
CIT Applications open March 1st, 2025

Hammond River Nature Camp welcomes volunteers as Counsellors-in-Training (CITs). Students will build on their interests to protect and conserve the Hammond River and the environment. CITs act as assistants to counsellors, helping to supervise children in all camp activities (kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding, fishing, science, sports, field games etc.). These are positions requiring the student’s commitment and responsibility.
Being a CIT is a great opportunity to gain experience in recreation, education, natural sciences and to develop a great work ethic. We are looking forward to putting together an AWESOME team for our 2025 Nature Camp.
We are looking for volunteers who:
-
Are between 12 and 15 years old in the 2025 calendar year
-
Enjoy working with children
-
Enjoy working as part of a team and have respect for those around them
-
Want to learn more about protecting and conserving the environment
-
Enjoy spending time: fishing, swimming, kayaking, eco-skills, arts & crafts, gardening, and fly tying
Applying to this program will introduce youth to the job application process. This volunteer experience will look great on a resume! These are voluntary positions to build youth toward their future careers.

Applications open March 1st and close May 31st, however CIT positions do fill up.
Please email your application to camp@hraa.ca
